This is spring in one moment — a honeybee buried in the heart of a giant red Oriental poppy, drunk on pollen, surrounded by deep crimson petals and a teal waterfall backdrop. It's my favorite time in the garden, when these blooms open wide and the bees get lost in them, covered head to toe in gold dust. Everything feels like it's just about to begin. The colors are saturated and alive: rich reds, deep purples, bright teals. Painted on a 24" x 18" canvas, this original captures that brief, intoxicating ritual of early summer when the garden is at its wildest.
Hand or machine wash on a cool, gentle cycle with similar colours. Avoid harsh chemicals or stain removers, which can affect the colour.
